POWEREXPO ALMATY 2025 RESULTS: MORE THAN 3,800 VISITORS, 25% GROWTH AND NEW BENCHMARKS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF KAZAKHSTAN'S ENERGY SECTOR

FROM 21 TO 23 OCTOBER 2025, ALMATY HOSTED THE 23RD KAZAKHSTAN INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION "ENERGY, ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING AND POWER ENGINEERING" POWEREXPO ALMATY 2025 AND THE 9TH KAZAKHSTAN INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION "NUCLEAR ENERGY AND INDUSTRY" KAZATOMEXPO 2025, BRINGING TOGETHER LEADING PLAYERS IN THE ENERGY COMPLEX AND NUCLEAR ENERGY SPECIALISTS ON ONE PLATFORM.

This landmark event became an effective platform for the presentation of the latest technologies in the energy sector. During the three days of the exhibition, 3,813 industry professionals became unique visitors, who were able to get acquainted with innovative solutions and conclude important business contracts. Visitors noted the importance of the event as a source of the latest information and an opportunity to strengthen partnerships. "Every time it is more and more interesting: new technologies, new developments - each time we get to know more and more new suppliers. I am very pleased that there are many companies with good proposals and ideas. We are looking for partners and suppliers for further work. We are already cooperating with many companies, and we were glad to see everyone today, to talk, to find out what is new, what are their plans for development in Kazakhstan." - Natalia Zhdanova, Director, Life Energy Flood LLP, shared her impressions.

This year, the Powerexpo Almaty exhibition attracted 234 companies from 17 countries, including Austria, Algeria, Belarus, Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, India, Iran, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and the Czech Republic. With the support of industry departments, collective expositions of the Republic of Mordovia, the Perm Territory, the Omsk Region, and the Mosprom Collective Stand were formed.The Kaluga Region, the Chelyabinsk Region and the Sverdlovsk Region were also represented among the exhibitors.   69 Kazakhstani and 165 foreign companies presented innovative solutions for the energy complex: from electrical equipment and energy, heat and gas supply systems to solutions for housing and communal services. Energy efficient technologies, automated control systems, software, as well as the latest developments in the field of renewable energy, lighting and cable and wire products were presented.  

This year, the exhibition has shown steady growth - compared to last year, its scale has increased by 25%. Special attention should be paid to the participation of 26 domestic manufacturers who presented their latest developments and solutions. The participants of the exhibition also spoke about its effectiveness as a unique platform for successful negotiations and conclusion of contracts: "Today we are present at the exhibition for the tenth time. This platform is a very key means for us to receive orders, contracts, work and get to know our future partners. To date, some contracts have already been signed, partial agreements have been received.Natalia Makridina, Business Development Director, Silumin-Vostok, shared her impressions.  

The exhibitions were accompanied by a rich business program, which became a key platform for the exchange of experience and discussion of innovative approaches to the development of the industry. The plenary session "Modernization of the electric power industry of Kazakhstan: elimination of deficit, reduction of depreciation and growth of investment attractiveness" opened the business program, drawing attention to the modernization of the country's electric power industry. The session was attended by Sungat Yessimkhanov , Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Gulnara Bizhanova – Member of the Management Board – Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, Damir Narynbayev – Executive Director of the KAZENERGY Association, Nurzhan Zhakupbekov – Executive Director for Construction and Repair of Alatau Zharyk Company JSC, Almaz Sauhimov – Managing Director for Development of the National Power Grid of KEGOC JSC, Saken Zhunis – Head of the Electricity and Coal Division of the Department of Fuel and Energy Complex of the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition of the Republic of Kazakhstan.   Experts discussed systemic wear and improved reliability, capacity shortages and the development of balanced generation, as well as issues of investment, tariff regulation and digital transformation of the industry.

Further, the business program included strategic panel sessions on the following topics: "Tariff Setting in the Energy Sector of Kazakhstan: Reform Is Overdue" and "Global Energy Network of the Future: From Science Fiction to Regional Integration". Experts discussed tariff reform in Kazakhstan's energy sector, the need for investment and modernization, as well as the prospects for creating a global energy grid and the country's role in the development of regional integration.

On October 22, as part of the second day of the exhibition, strategic panel sessions were held on the development of nuclear energy and the future of Kazakhstan's energy systems. At the sessions "The Future of Nuclear Energy in Kazakhstan: Balancing Technologies, Transparency and Responsibility" and "Energy Systems of the Future: How to Ensure Sustainability" Experts discussed issues of transparency and responsibility in the nuclear industry, as well as ways to ensure the sustainability of the energy system, modernize infrastructure and integrate renewable sources. The result of the second day was the final session of Expert Talks: Energy Dialogue – Point of Synthesis, where the participants of the Energy Professionals Forum 2025 summed up the results of the rich program. During the discussion, the key challenges and directions for the development of the energy sector of Kazakhstan were identified, as well as proposals for further cooperation between the industry and the state were formulated.

On October 23, the business program ended with the KazEnergoOTP-2025 Forum, organized by KAZEPI with the support of Atameken NCE of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The forum program included three key events: the plenary session "Localization and demand: how to ensure a sustainable sales market for DGP?", the panel session "The New Role of DNAs in the Country's Economy" and the strategic panel "National Industrial Base of the Energy Sector: What Needs to Be Changed Now?"The participants discussed the development of domestic engineering, strengthening the industrial potential and the formation of a sustainable energy infrastructure in Kazakhstan. 

Powerexpo Almaty and KazAtomExpo have become the center of networking for local and foreign energy experts, providing participants and visitors with a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences, find new partners, learn about the latest trends and introduce innovations into practice on one platform.  Exhibitors note the importance of such events for the development of the company's image: "We have been participating in Powerexpo Almaty for the fifth year.
