KAZATOMEXPO 2025 — A SPACE FOR DIALOGUE, TECHNOLOGIES, AND STRATEGIC SOLUTIONS IN THE NUCLEAR INDUSTRY

FROM OCTOBER 21 TO 23, 2025, THE 8TH KAZAKHSTAN INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION 'NUCLEAR ENERGY AND INDUSTRY' — KAZATOMEXPO 2025 WILL BE HELD IN ALMATY, AT THE ATAKENT EXHIBITION CENTER.

The event will take place within the framework of Powerexpo Almaty, bringing together the leading events of the country's energy sector on one platform and creating conditions for cross-industry dialogue and effective interaction.

KazAtomExpo is a key industry event aimed at developing Kazakhstan's nuclear industry and strengthening nuclear safety. The exhibition traditionally gathers the professional community, including representatives of nuclear energy and engineering enterprises, research institutes, engineering companies, and organizations specializing in the disposal of radioactive waste and spent fuel. Each year, KazAtomExpo confirms its status as an effective communication platform where participants can not only present innovative technologies but also build strategic partnerships, discuss current issues of industry regulation and personnel training.

Holding KazAtomExpo together with Powerexpo Almaty allows attracting the maximum number of target audiences and significantly expanding the horizons of business communication. The platform is expected to host representatives of government structures, international organizations, engineering and technical services, industrial and energy enterprises, as well as specialists in the design, construction, and modernization of nuclear facilities. The rich business program will be dedicated to discussing modern industry challenges, implementing advanced solutions, and issues of creating a full-fledged nuclear cluster in Kazakhstan.

The relevance of KazAtomExpo 2025 is enhanced against the backdrop of large-scale changes in the country's energy sector. Kazakhstan continues to increase the potential of the nuclear industry, possessing about 19% of the world's proven uranium reserves and holding a leading position in the world in terms of its production volumes. The developed uranium mining and processing industry provides about 40% of the world's uranium needs, making the country an important player in the global nuclear market.

In 2025, Kazakhstan officially announced plans to build two nuclear power plants. According to the decision of the Atomic Energy Agency, the Russian company Rosatom will lead the consortium for the construction of the first NPP, and the Chinese CNNC will become the leader of the project for the second station. The first NPP will be located in the village of Ulken on the shore of Lake Balkhash, with a design capacity of 2.4 GW, and completion of construction is planned for 2035–2036. These initiatives are accompanied by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's directive to create a nuclear cluster in the country, covering all areas — from fundamental research to isotope production and nuclear medicine. These projects will form the basis for the formation of the country's nuclear cluster, covering scientific research, infrastructure development, the implementation of radiation technologies and nuclear medicine, as well as strengthening international cooperation.

KazAtomExpo 2025 is a unique opportunity for companies to present their developments, find new partners, exchange experiences, and become part of large-scale changes shaping the future of nuclear energy not only in Kazakhstan but in the region as a whole.
