POWEREXPO ALMATY 2024: THE MAIN EVENT IN THE FIELD OF ENERGY, ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT AND MACHINE BUILDING

FROM OCTOBER 30 TO NOVEMBER 1, 2024, ALMATY WILL HOST THE LARGEST EVENT IN THE ENERGY INDUSTRY - THE 22ND KAZAKHSTAN INTERNATIONAL ENERGY, ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT AND MACHINE BUILDING EXHIBITION - POWEREXPO ALMATY 2024.

The energy sector of Kazakhstan is one of the key sectors of the country’s economy, playing an important role in ensuring energy security and sustainable development. With significant reserves of natural resources such as oil, gas and coal, Kazakhstan strives to optimize their use, introduce modern technologies and achieve sustainable development of the energy sector. In 2024, the country is actively developing projects in the field of renewable energy sources. The state will invest 50 billion KZT in the construction of wind, solar and hydroelectric power plants. It is expected that 11 new facilities with a total capacity of 117.35 MW will be commissioned, which will significantly reduce the carbon footprint and support sustainable development goals. Such large-scale investments and active development of renewable energy sources underline the importance of the Powerexpo Almaty 2024 exhibition.

This year, 157 companies from 12 countries, including Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Russia, Thailand, Turkey, Uzbekistan and the Czech Republic, will exhibit at the exhibition. Participants will present cutting-edge developments in such important areas as alternative energy sources, energy saving and energy efficiency, cable and wire products, industrial lighting, as well as the latest achievements in these and other related areas.

Taking into account the successful results of 2023, when the exhibition was visited by 2,710 industry professionals and 117 companies from 10 countries became exhibitors, Powerexpo Almaty 2024 promises to be a unique industry platform for sharing best practices, innovative ideas and strategies aimed at supporting the sustainable development and prosperity of the energy sector in the region and beyond.

This year’s expo event is marked by an increase in the number of participants and an expanded area. The exhibition will be held in two pavilions and an outdoor exposition. Of particular interest is the participation of companies that are debuting at the exhibition for the first time. Among them are the following companies: IEC Energy, CNC Electric, Weicon, Averture, Maico Italia S.R.L., Brentwood Asia, Toshelectroapparat, AEC Kazakhstan, BK Connectors, CNC Electric, Future Power Solutions, Kazelectrosnab, OEM Engineering.Vostok, Petroleum Technology, TDZ, Vaviot Asia, Voronezhsky Transformator, Izolyator NPO, Impuls Production Enterprise, Ritet, Oil, Smtmax, Energiya Voda Resheniya, Epromet, Elektrotochpribor, Yuzhen, Kazakhstan Valve and Insulator Plant and others. The exhibition debutants will present advanced solutions and technologies, which will allow visitors to be the first to see innovative products that can change the future of the energy industry.

In addition to the exhibition exposition, visitors and participants of the exhibition will enjoy a rich business program, which will include key sessions devoted to current energy issues. On October 30, a Strategic Session on the topic “The Future of Hydrogen Energy in Kazakhstan: Trends and Prospects” will be held, where representatives of ministries, large energy companies and international organizations will discuss the development of a national strategy for hydrogen energy. On the same day, a case session on the topic “Innovations in Cybersecurity and the Application of AI in Energy” will be held, where they will discuss modern challenges in the field of cybersecurity for energy systems of Kazakhstan, as well as the possibilities of using artificial intelligence.

On October 31, the agenda will include a panel discussion “Renewable energy sources (RES) as part of the energy system and a source of electricity supply for small and medium businesses”, which will view Kazakhstan and international experience in using RES. Also, a case session “Domestic value: domestic commodity producers in the energy sector” will be held, where the role of local producers in ensuring Kazakhstan’s energy independence will be discussed.

Powerexpo Almaty 2024 promises to be a landmark event of the year, bringing together experts from all over the world to discuss the latest technologies and solutions in the energy sector.
