Further Perspectives of Energy Sector Development at Powerexpo Almaty 2021.
On October 27-29, Atakent Exhibition Centre will host the 19th Kazakhstan International Exhibition “Energy Sector, Electrical Engineering and Power Engineering – Powerexpo Almaty 2021.
The electric power engineering continues to be the backbone industry for Kazakhstan's economy today. Effective development and stable functioning of the energy sector are the basis for economic growth and an indispensable factor for attracting investments. Undoubtedly, the time has come for the energy complex to face new global challenges. The COVID-19 pandemic has had both short-term and long-term impacts on the country's energy sector. In 2021, the President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev has already noted in his speech at the meeting of the State Commission on Emergency Situations: “It is clear that significant reforms will be required by the energy sector. It won't be the same after the crisis. In the medium term, the movement towards the “green energy” is an urgent need”. Global trends accelerate decision making to diversify not only the economy, but also the energy sector in particular. All this, indicates the coming changes in the global and Kazakhstani energy sector under the influence of the COVID-19 crisis. Alternative energy is becoming more and more relevant every day, which impacts the RES development. The global total annual average growth rate for installed capacity of RES in 2011 to 2020 was 8%, while the share of RES in the installed capacity of the global energy sector grew from 25% to 37% over the past 10 years.
At Pоwerexpo Almaty 2021, representatives of major domestic and international companies will discuss the topical issues of energy saving, RES development and energy efficiency increase.
