Kazakhstan, Tajikistan to mull mutual electricity supplies

A meeting of the Kazakh-Tajik intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation took place in Dushanbe on February 12-13, the Kazakh Ministry of Energy said.

Deputy Energy Minister Bulat Akchulakov and Chairman of the State Investments and Property Management Committee of Tajikistan Farrukh Hamralizod took part in the meeting.

The parties discussed trade turnover issues, and further developing the bilateral ties in energy, health care, education, culture, migration and agriculture fields.

They agreed to provide assistance in establishing direct contacts and holding reciprocal business trips between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.

Additionally, the parties agreed to consider reciprocal electricity supplies after restoration of the parallel operation of the energy system of Tajikistan with the united energy system of the Central Asia.

The meeting of the intergovernmental commission ended with signing of a protocol, which reflects the reached accords and further development of Kazakh-Tajik ties.
